Job Description

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Stock/Customer Assistant role is a busy one! It requires somebody who is organised, can multitask, has a desire to deliver excellent customer service and is passionate about local and great tasting food.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all the customer areas including floors, tills and shelves are kept clean and tidy at all times and follow cleaning schedules.
  • Fill up the stock on the shelves and ensure that price signs and tickets are displayed on all products.
  • Inspect deliveries for quality and accuracy, raising any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all stock is properly rotated.
  • Implement changes to merchandising plans and put out new promotional material.
  • Dispose of waste from the shop floor in accordance with the shop procedures.
  • Serve customers using our EPOS system.
  • Provide helpful and friendly advice to customers about the products which we sell and have an awareness of products sold throughout the whole shop.
  • Proactively feedback to management, customer comments and suggestions for improvement.
  • Assist with customer tasting events held in the shop.
  • Follow health and safety policies and food safety management policies at all times.
  • Perform all necessary opening and closing responsibilities when rota'd on those shifts.
  • Perform additional duties to the above as and when required by the business.

Hours of Work (Minimum 37 hours per week, over 5 days).

Monday - 7.00am to 2.00pm

Tuesday - 12.00pm to 7.45pm

Wednesday - 12.00pm to 7.45pm

Thursday - 7.00am to 2.00pm

Friday - 12.00pm to 7.45pm

Saturday - Off

Sunday - Off

Requirements

  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • Organised, enthusiastic and positive person and enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively and under your own initiative without direct supervision.
  • Previous retail experience is desirable.
  • Willingness to be flexible and work additional hours if required.
  • Courteous and helpful manner and a strong desire to give our customers an enjoyable shopping experience and exceed their expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High standards of personal and food hygeine.
