This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team and gain hands on management experience. Reporting to the Store Manager/Assistant Manager, you will help to deliver the department objectives and assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the store.
We are looking for someone with lots of energy and confidence. You will be interacting with our customers on a daily basis, so you must have excellent communication skills and have an outgoing personality. You must be self-motivated, organised, and flexible as the role will develop and evolve as the business grows with potential for greater responsibilities and promotion opportunities for the right candidate.
Role / Responsibilities
The role will involve assisting the Manager/Assistant Manager in all the following aspects as well as taking control of these responsibilities when the Manager/Assistant Manager is unavailable:
- Opening and closing the shop.
- Managing staff.
- Resolving any customer complaints effectively.
- Relationship building with customers.
- General administration duties.
- Control of grocery, fresh fruit and vegetable and flower displays to a high standard.
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment to ensure that best practice and hygiene standards are in line with legislation and our own policies.
- Stock control, including ordering and rotation of all stock.
- Use of the till to serve customers, track sales.
- Train staff with the skills necessary to support your role.
- Possess excellent time management and experience of working to guidelines.
- Work on all Food Safety, Health amp; Safety, Environmental and Fire guidelines in line with legislation and company policies.
Hours of Work (Minimum 37 hours a week, over 5 days).
Monday - 12.00pm to 7.45pm
Tuesday - 7.00am to 2.00pm
Wednesday - 7.00am to 2.00pm
Thursday - 12.00pm to 7.45pm
Friday - Off
Saturday - 12.00pm to 7.15pm
Sunday - Off
Requirements
- Experience of retail work preferably in a food environment.
- Fantastic customer service skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Good communication skills.
