We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Director of Food amp; Beverage to function as the tactical business leader of the property’s food and beverage front of house operation, including Restaurants/Lounge, In-Room Dining, Banquets and Beach amp; Pool, where applicable. Position oversees the implementation of departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. The position ensures the food and beverage operation meets the brand’s target customer needs, ensures employee satisfaction, and focuses on growing revenues and maximizing the financial performance of the department. Reporting to the Director of Food amp; Beverage, this position develops and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property employees and provides a return on investment.

Requirements

This position requires a minimum of a 4 year degree from an accredited university, preferably with a major or focus of studies in the hospitality industry, business administration, or restaurant management. A minimum of five years of progressive experience, in a food amp; beverage leadership role, in a luxury hotel/resort environment with prior experience in a fine dining environment is essential. Prior experience in operations of in room dining, bar, and beach/pool resort operations is highly desirable. Requires knowledge of liquor laws and regulations, health department regulations, and working knowledge of hotel point of sales systems. Ability to understand and train employees on luxury service standards is also highly desirable.

Must have the expertise and ability to exceed Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards (+90 Points) and Forbes Travel Guide Five Star standards by ensuring quality, attention to detail, and driving of Belmond brand standards throughout the operation. The coming year will have tremendous focus placed on Forbes, LQA, and Belmond brand standards; a candidate with a proven track record of leading a team (combined with their subject matter expertise) through the process of acquiring and maintaining a Forbes Five Star rating is essential.
