Job Overview:

As the Risk Officer, you will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with our licensed activities. Working within the regulatory framework set by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (FSA), you will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies to ensure our compliance, safeguard the company's assets, and maintain the integrity of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Risk Identification and Assessment:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential risks associated with financial products, services, and operations.
  • Analyse data and market trends to anticipate and understand emerging risks.

2. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of Isle of Man FSA regulations and ensure the company's activities align with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Compliance and regulatory bodies to address compliance-related matters.
  • Coordinate and participate in regulatory examinations.

3. Risk Mitigation and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies to minimise the impact of identified risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to establish risk appetite and tolerance levels.

4. Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Establish a robust monitoring system to track and report on key risk indicators.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management and regulatory authorities, highlighting the status of risk management efforts.

5. Internal Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with various internal departments to promote a risk-aware culture and provide guidance on risk-related matters.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance staff awareness and understanding of risk management practices.

6. Incident Response and Crisis Management:

  • Develop and implement protocols for responding to incidents and crises related to financial risks.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of risk-related issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM) preferred.

• Proven experience (7 years +) as a Risk Officer in a regulated financial services environment.

• Strong understanding of Isle of Man FSA regulations and compliance requirements.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
