Job Description
We are inviting applications from suitably qualified people to fill the position of Pastry Sous Chef, at Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Anguilla.
- Assist with the training to the staff for them to direct their efforts toward exceptional and complete guest satisfaction, employee productivity, compliance to brand standards, and hotel profitability including a concentrated focus on Forbes Travel Guide Service and Leading Quality Assurance Standards.
- Responsible for the daily management and food production of the Pastry Kitchen, ensuring maximum quality and profitability while working closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and Executive Chef to plan the production and development of seasonal offerings.
- Responsible for creating high quality pastry dishes with standard recipes and presentations to maintain quality and consistency of product.
- Assist in the production and maintenance of par stocks of pastry and desserts with proper rotation of products while maintaining the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards in the pastry and bakery section.
- Ensure that all food products received into the kitchen are of the required standard and quality and that they are stored and rotated correctly.
- Be creative in the design and implementation of ongoing food concepts.
Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in pastry cooking or Pastry Chef Experience with high volume food production.
- High school diploma or three (3) years’ experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area or a two (2) year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
- Excellent knowledge of different types of pastry, dessert, cake decorating.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
